WELWITCHIA UNIVERSITY HOSTS INDUSTRY STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT WORKSHOP

Welwitchia University hosted an Industry Stakeholder Engagement Workshop in Windhoek on 28 October 2026, bringing together valued partners from industry, government and professional sectors to share insights on the University’s proposed academic programmes.

The engagement covered proposed doctoral, master’s, postgraduate diploma, bachelor’s honours and certificate programmes across key fields, including education, health, social development, telecommunications, dispute resolution and other emerging areas of national importance.

The workshop provided a platform for stakeholders to review the proposed qualifications and offer practical input based on workplace needs, sector trends, professional standards and national development priorities. Participants emphasised the importance of ensuring that curricula remain relevant, responsive and aligned with the skills required by employers and communities.

Through the discussions, stakeholders highlighted the value of strong collaboration between academia and industry in preparing graduates for the realities of the workplace. Their contributions will help inform the further development and refinement of the proposed programmes, ensuring that Welwitchia University continues to offer qualifications that are academically sound, professionally relevant and responsive to Namibia’s development needs.

Welwitchia University extends its appreciation to all participants for their constructive contributions, meaningful dialogue and continued commitment to strengthening collaboration between academia and industry.
